About deen.cam
What this is
deen.cam is an independent website built as a small set of practical tools: prayer times, a Qibla direction finder, a Hijri calendar converter, and a Zakat calculator. The goal is narrow on purpose: four things done quickly and correctly, with as little reading as possible standing between you and the number you came for.
What this isn't
This is not a religious authority, a fatwa service, or the work of an Islamic scholar. Nobody involved in building this site holds a religious teaching credential, and no claim to the contrary appears anywhere on it. Where scholars genuinely differ, for example on which Nisab standard to use for Zakat, or whether worn gold jewelry is zakatable, this site says so plainly instead of picking a side and presenting it as settled.
For any ruling that matters to your religious practice, please verify with your own local imam or a scholar you trust. Use these tools for the arithmetic and lookups; use a real person for the rulings.
Where the data comes from
Prayer times and Hijri calendar conversions are calculated by the free, publicAlAdhan API, using standard astronomical calculation methods (ISNA by default in the US and Canada, Muslim World League by default in the UK). The Qibla bearing is calculated directly in your browser using the standard great-circle bearing formula to the Kaaba's published coordinates. The Zakat calculator applies the 2.5% rule to figures you type in yourself; it does not fetch or guess any "live" gold or silver price.
Feedback
If something looks wrong, a city's prayer times seem off, or you've spotted a bug, we'd genuinely like to know. This site is actively maintained.
